Although there is no specific British or European standard for stainless steel lifting slings all equipment should follow the principles laid down in the relevant standards covering lifting equipment. Our own products are designed accordingly. They incorporate exclusively short link chain, are 100% proof tested after assembly to twice the Working Load Limit (WLL), and offer a minimum four to one safety factor. A test certificate will be issued for all lifting chain assemblies.

It is recommended that for normal conditions of use the Working Load Limit should not exceed one-half the specified proof load (for example a single leg sling tested to 1000kg would be given a WLL of 500kg). When the conditions of use are exceptionally hazardous or severe the permissible working load should be substantially less than one-half the proof/test load.
